Before you begin

Keep the project small and save a separate working copy. App controls and available features can vary by version.

  1. Prepare the layers

Name the body parts clearly and organise them under the character’s bone layer.

  2. Build the skeleton

Add bones through the torso and limbs. Place joints close to the natural bend points.

  3. Check the parenting

Confirm which bone controls each connected part. A consistent parent–child structure makes movement easier to manage.

  4. Test small poses

Move one joint at a time. Check for drifting artwork or distorted shapes, then adjust binding and bone influence as needed.

Try it yourself

Create a short practice project using these steps. Play it back, make one improvement and save your result.
